This class is an introduction to the Musical Theater genre for students of all ages.  This class gives students the opportunity to explore acting exercises, simple movement and an introduction to singing.  Students will learn songs and movement from current and classic musicals in preparation for an end of the year performance.

Class Description: Join our Musical Theater class on Saturdays and life is a song!  Dance and sing to songs from worldwide hit shows such as Grease, Little Mermaid, High School Musical, and Cats.  Learn exciting choreography, original song texts, and how to perform like a Broadway star!  Impress your friends and family at our end-of-the-term performance and get a taste of life behind the famous red curtain!

Each class begins with a head to toe warm-up based on jazz dance technique.  We then work on practicing new, kid-appropriate jazz steps and learning choreography.  The singing part of class involves a short vocal warm-up and learning lyrics to a song. Be prepared to see more drama around the house!

Required Dance Attire:  comfortable clothes and tan jazz shoes
